While we honor the bravery of those who fought for our country’s independence, we also remember the One who won the greatest victory of all. Jesus defeated sin and death. He didn’t just fight for our freedom. He finished the work.
National freedom is a blessing. But spiritual freedom is everlasting.
Jesus didn’t set us free so we could do whatever we want. He set us free from what once held us captive: fear, guilt, sin, shame, and separation from God.
True freedom begins when we surrender. Not to people or systems, but to Christ.
When we let go of striving and rest in the truth of what He has already done, we find a freedom that no circumstance can shake.
In Christ, we are not just freed from something. We are freed for something.
We are free from:
We are free for:
This freedom is not about ease or comfort. It is about becoming who we were created to be.
As you enjoy the fireworks tonight, take a moment to thank God for the freedom that lasts forever.
Let it move you from simple celebration to heartfelt praise. Let it remind you that your freedom was bought with a price and that you belong to the One who paid it.
You were not set free to blend in.
You were set free to live set apart.
To shine.
To stand firm.
To live bold and anchored in truth.
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” – 2 Corinthians 3:17
Ask yourself:
Let today be more than a holiday. Let it be a reminder of who you are and whose you are.
From victory,
Karen
